Remote Infrared Thermometer
Description
The device is an infrared thermometer designed to measure forehead temperature in infants and adults without the need for contact with the human body.
It can be used both by consumers at home and by doctors in clinics.
The thermometer is powered by two AA type batteries (DC 3V).
LCD display and infrared lens.
The thermometer is preset in BODY mode. Surface temperature differs from body temperature. To obtain body temperature, always use the BODY mode. When measuring the temperature of a baby bottle or tub, use the Surface Temp mode. To measure the temperature of a room, use Room mode.
Technical specifications
- Memory: 32 measurements.
- Measuring distance: 3 cm - 5 cm.
- Automatic shut-off in less than 30 seconds.
- Temperature display: 0,1°C (0,1°F).
- Measuring range:
Body temperature measurement: 32°C - 49°C (89.6°F - 109.2°F).
In BODY mode, the screen has three backlight colors: green, orange, and red.
Green: Below 37.3°C (99.1°F), normal temperature.
Orange: 37.4°C - 37.9°C (99.3°F - 100.2°F), low fever.
Red: more than 38°C (100.4°F), high fever.
Surface temperature measurement: 0°C - 60°C (32°F - 140°F).
Ambient temperature measurement: 0°C - 40°C (32°F - 104°F).
The thermometer can detect temperature values below 32°C or above 42.9°C, but accuracy is not guaranteed outside this range.
-Precision:
32°C - 34.9°C (89.6°F - 94.8°F): ±0.3°C (±0.6°F).
35°C - 42°C (95°F - 107.6°F): ±0.2°C (±0.4°F).
42.1°C - 42.9°C (107.8°F - 109.2°F): ±0.3°C (±0.6°F).
How to use
Install the batteries. On first use after inserting the batteries, wait 10-15 minutes for the device to adjust to the room temperature. Press the On/Scan button, pointing it to the center of the forehead, at a distance of 3-5 cm. Make sure it is set to BODY mode, then press the On/Scan button and the temperature is immediately displayed. Before taking a measurement, make sure that any hair, sweat or dirt is removed from the forehead and that the forehead is thoroughly dry. Wait 10 minutes after performing such an operation before taking the measurement.
Normal use conditions:
Ambient temperature 10°C - 40°C (50°F - 104°F).
Relative humidity less than 85%.
Altitude pressure 700 hPa to 1060 hPa.
The reliability of the measurement is not guaranteed if the temperature measurement is taken on another part of the body (e.g. arm, torso).
Do not move the thermometer until the final value is displayed.
Measurements cannot be taken in places with a large airflow (e.g. wind, air conditioning, fans).
Do not take a measurement immediately after exercising, showering, taking medicine, eating or drinking, or doing a "cold or hot compress on the forehead." Do not take a measurement when there has been a significant change in environmental conditions. Wait for the device to adjust to the new conditions for 30 minutes before using it again.
Wait 3 to 5 seconds between measurements.
It is recommended to take three measurements on the forehead. If the three measurements are different, consider the higher value.
Wipe the sensor with a cotton cloth, moistened with 95% isopropyl alcohol. Cleaning should be done regularly. To clean the entire device, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with warm water and soap or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Under no circumstances can the liquid enter the thermometer.
Do not use the thermometer for at least 30 minutes until it is completely dry.
Never use harsh detergents, thinner, gasoline, or hard brushes.
Warnings
Use the thermometer only after you have read and understood the operating instructions. Use only for the specific purpose as described in the instruction manual. Any misuse will void the warranty.
The use of the thermometer cannot replace consulting a doctor. Do not use the device for self-diagnosis or medication on the basis of measurements taken without the advice of a doctor. In particular, do not start using medication or change the dosage type without prior approval.
Children should not use this thermometer. The device is not a toy.
If this thermometer is stored in a place colder or warmer than the place where it will be used, leave it in the patient room for at least 30 minutes, before taking the measurement.
Do not expose the thermometer to electric shock and extreme temperature conditions above 55°F (131°C) or below -20°C (-4°F). Do not use the device in case of relative humidity greater than 85%. Do not expose the thermometer to sunlight, too high or too low temperatures, dirt or dust.
Do not drop the thermometer.
Do not touch the glass of the infrared lens with your fingers. The lens is very fragile and could break easily and cause injury.
Do not use if the thermometer is damaged.
Do not open the thermometer - it contains small parts that can be swallowed by children.
Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any other liquid. It is not water-resistant or watertight.
If you have problems with the operation of the device, do not attempt to repair it yourself, as this will void the warranty. Contact your dealer and have reopenings performed only by authorized service partners.
Remove the batteries if you are not going to use them for an extended period of time. Otherwise, there is a risk that the batteries may be damaged.
Keep the thermometer away from electromagnetic fields produced by devices such as microwave ovens, soldering irons, induction devices.
A control measurement with a conventional thermometer is recommended in the following cases:
- if the reading is surprisingly low;
- for infants up to 100 days;
- for children under three years of age with a weak immune system or who react unusually to the presence or absence of fever.
- If you are using the thermometer for the first time or want to familiarize yourself with it.
