Knowing your skin type is essential for identifying your daily skin care and for achieving healthy, smooth and well-hydrated skin thanks to the right products. Choosing products that are not suitable for your skin type could lead to ruining the health of the epidermis.

How to recognize your skin type?
Let's begin by outlining the four basic types of skin: normal , dry , oily and combination .
Each type has its own characteristics and requires special treatment and care.
There are two factors that affect the nature of the skin: water , which determines its compactness and hydration, and lipids , responsible for nourishment and softness.
Starting from these two factors, we are now going to explain specifically the characteristics of each skin type.
Normal skin
Normal skin is compact, elastic, homogeneous in color and has a smooth and soft texture. This type of skin is easy to treat, as it doesn't present any particular problems, even going on with the years, particular attention won't be necessary, just follow a classic daily routine of cleansing and hydration.
Dry skin
Dry skin is usually caused by external factors. The causes can be the sun or the cold, which can sometimes make it appear chapped. This skin type has a low amount of water and lipids. Furthermore, it is prone to irritation and is at risk of premature aging. This is why it is essential to take care of it, using products that can give dry skin the right type of hydration. It is also advisable to integrate external care with the right fluid intake, therefore drink plenty of water to ensure that hydration starts from within the body.
Oily skin
Oily skin is shiny and oily, often characterized by the presence of comedones (i.e. black or whiteheads) in the T-zone, caused by dilated pores, a typical feature of this type of skin. This type of skin, in adolescence can be prone to acne, which if not treated in the right way, can leave permanent scars.
As far as skin aging is concerned, however, this type of skin is less prone to the appearance of wrinkles, it is no coincidence that the products generally recommended for moisturizing it have a very light texture. It should be emphasized that it is very important to clean it thoroughly every day, to keep it opaque and avoid the oily effect.
Combination skin
Combination skin has both the characteristics of oily and dry skin at the same time. Generally the T-zone, i.e. the forehead, nose and chin appear oily due to excess sebum. While the cheekbones, cheeks and lips can be normal or sometimes a little dehydrated.
This type of skin is easily treatable. Just identify the oily and dry areas, and use specific products.
